California approximately 80 miles

looks down upon the place where
the Russian River meets the
mighty Pacific Ocean. Looking out
large panoramic windows from the
east to the west, guests will enjoy
spectacular
views of the river, the
rolling hills, the windblown sand
dunes and the Pacific Ocean.

About the Name

The home Castle Crag got its name from the huge rock formation called Castle Crag Rock, which is located approximately 200 yards east of the home. The spectacular rocky cliff provides a distinguished landmark for the town of Jenner and can be easily viewed from the home's east-facing windows.

Walk-through Description

The house has a spacious turnaround driveway , which leads to brick steps up to the house, beside the garage. There are entrances at both lower and upper levels, with the main living area of the house on the upper level.  The upper door provides entry through a short hallway into the spacious open plan arrangement of sunroom, kitchen and living room.  This provides a large area 'great' room, very suitable for both large or small groups.  The sunroom and living room both face the river and have magnificent  views.  Adjacent to the sunroom and in front of the living room is a 200 sq ft upper deck, which also faces the river. A staircase enters on the east side of the sunroom from the lower level.

The modern style kitchen is  fitted with light oak fitments and fully equipped with all required appliances, and is also furnished with a six place oak dining suite.  The sunroom also has a king size futon which provides another bed if needed.  The living room is another spacious room with a large stone fireplace, furnished with comfortable couches and recliners.  There is a satellite TV, VCR and stereo system, and  small library of books and games. A built -in firewood cupboard, with direct access from the external firewood shed, provides fuel for the woodstove built into the fireplace. A small hallway connects the living room and kitchen with the bedroom area and central bathroom.

The bedrooms on the upper floor comprise a large master bedroom with en suite tiled bathroom with queen size bed, plus a paneled double twin bedroom  adjacent to the central bathroom.  On the lower level there is another bedroom furnished with 1920's furniture made in England by the cabinet-maker father of the owner.  This has a queen size bed and full en suite bathroom. This bedroom also has beautiful views of the river. The lower bathroom is adjacent to a laundry room with washer and dryer. The lower entrance door to the house provides direct access via a small hallway to the lower bedroom and the laundry room.  There is a lower deck accessible from the upper deck and the driveway, which houses a full size 6 person hot tub.
